Featured Artists : Jacqueline Tollet-LoebJacqueline Tollet-Loeb J. Tollet-Loeb was born in 1931 in Paris and it was there where she pursued both her academic and artistic studies. In 1947 after graduating from Ecole de Rue de Seine she entered the Arts Decoratifs de Paris where she studied for several years. She later studied in the art schools of Le Grande Chaumiere and La Rue Labouteux with such teachers as Jean Bouchaud and Jean Maxence. In 1953 she held her first exhibition in the Salon de l'Art Libre and begins exhibiting her work there and in the Artistes Francais. During this period of her life she receives the title of Officer d'Art et Letters. Jacqueline relocated from Paris to Normandy in 1964 where she lived for many years painting and teaching the art of painting. She concentrated on teaching the art of figurative paintings with nudes using live models and "nature morte". It is also during this time that she served as the President of the Artist Bas Normands in Caen, France while exhibiting in a multitude of salons and exhibitions. Among other honors she was requested to join selected artists in painting "The Way of the Cross" in the Church of Conde sur Noireaux. In 2004 she finally settles in Bordeaux to be closer to her children and to devote herself to her sole passion of painting. Jacqueline defines her art as "an intimate and sensual relationship between Beings (persons) and Things (matter)."
