She has been painting in oils since the age of six and in very unusual circumstances - through revolutions in 3rd world countries and ambassadorial parties in the capitals of Europe, on remote islands and in African jungles. Across four continents and two decades, the diplomat's daughter has painted a world of bazaars and fortune tellers, French cafés, and intimate soirees. Janine is the first American woman artist to show at the Exposition des Printemps, Orange, France (1994) and at the Centro Culturale d'Italia, Rome (1995).
