Juan Calderon-Padilla
Juan Calderon-Padilla was born in Madrid, Spain in 1955. As a self-taught artist, he is a painter with great talent. He especially favors the colors yellow, red and green to control the light especially its reflections on rainy days. Juan Calderon is also a plein air painter of note.
Not surprisingly, Calderon's success as a painter has grown out of his personal love of natural beauty. As a painter he values dirctness and spontaneity. He approaches the canvas with passion and intensity in an effort to convey a vibrant sense of light. Calderon believes that he is successful as a painter when he has captured the essence of sunlight in one of his works.
Accordingly the majority of his work depicts a "particular time of day"... dawn, noon or dusk. The artist says "...but the sun is always present. Without the sun there is no light, no color, no beauty - thus I am drawn to a landscape where beauty exudes the fullness of life."
Juan Caladeron-Padilla's artwork can be seen in private and public collections worldwide.
